Keri has worked for over 20 years with people of many walks of life across various healthcare and community settings. She has become increasingly interested in exploring how the body responds to adversity, and how healing happens not only in how we enact meaning in our lives, but also in how we can help our bodies process the effects of these challenges.
More InfoHealing Change Centre believes we all have the ability to solve our problems. We may feel ‘stuck’ from past traumas or stresses or overwhelmed by present events. When we experience stress or trauma, it can be difficult to access these solutions because we are weighed down by our emotions.
At Healing Change Centre we can help respond to the overwhelming demands of life and work that can bring on high levels of sadness, depression, anxiety and anger. This can result in withdrawal and reduced functioning in our personal or professional lives and in our relationships. For some of us, disconnection from important relationships takes place when stress or trauma from past or existing events occurs. Healing Change Centre offers a wide range of mental health services including online, individual, couple and group therapy.
Healing Change Centre helps people to regulate and express their emotions and to enhance their relationships so they remain functioning and connected. We believe people are the experts on their lives and the answers lie within them. At Healing Change Centre, our role is to facilitate finding those answers and from there, help people make the choices that help them create the life they would prefer to live. We work with people struggling with anger, depression, grief, sadness, anxiety, self-harm, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other issues.
Keri and Frank are connected by their foundational training in Narrative Therapy - a respectful and non-blaming approach to counselling which centers people as the experts in their own lives. It views problems as separate from people and assumes people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives. It explores how we (or others) make and enact meaning in our lives. It is through conversations and reflections that problems can be investigated and then approached and enacted in preferred ways.
